Rushdoony: Covenental thinking and Christian Government

The following video is a 9-part playlist.
  • Part 1: Covenantal thinking is foundational, and has all but disappeared. The new Israel of God. We have a duty. We have to occupy the whole world. Christ is the ordained King of all creation. We are a people called to victory, not defeat. "This is the victory that has overcome the world; even our faith."

  • Part 2: Welfare and the Church vs. the state. Some interesting points on courts and 1Cor 6. Christian courts more just then the heathen courts.

  • Part 3: The Church as Christ's "body" on earth. NOT His diety, but the new humanity of the new Adam, the last Adam, Jesus Christ.

  • Part 4: Christian Reconstruction is nothing 'new'. The rejeneration of man...self gov't. The governmental spheres of the family, the Church, the school, vocation, society, and civil/state.

  • Part 5: "Whose law you have, he is your God." Throughout history, God's law has functioned wherever God's people lived.

  • Part 6: "Occupy until I come." All our thinking is presuppositional. Ideas do have consequences. "Until the last enemy be destroyed."

  • Part 7: Calvin's generation...the society had to be Christian.

  • Part 8: The early American colonies. American culture in the 20th century; the Church controlled all aspects of society in its beginning.

  • Part 9: At the beginning of the 20th century, 80-90% of Christians were in the West. Now it's about 30%. The anamosity of the world toward Christians who use God's law as the necessary standard in culture.
